📮POST OFFICE UPDATE📮
...with a brief word about the Banking Hub.
Following our campaign to keep the Morley Post Office open, I’m delighted to confirm again that Richard Fleetwood is taking over the franchise of the Morley branch.
I met with Richard and I want to confirm the following facts:
✅All services are being kept and new ones will be added, including photocopying and printing.
✅All of the opening hours will stay the same except for a slightly earlier opening time on Tuesday.
✅There will be an additional retail offer on top of the services they offer now.
✅The Post Office is staying in this building for the foreseeable future but there will be a review of the location until summer next year – even then it can stay where it is. In the unlikely event it does move, Richard has confirmed it will stay in the centre of the town.
✅Richard has 21 years’ experience and he has a long family history of managing post office branches. He wants to be part of our community.
✅The transfer will happen on the 2nd and 3rd of October and Richard’s aim is to ensure that people don’t necessarily know there has been a transfer at all.
And just a word on the Banking Hub.
💷As I’ve said in these updates previously, Cash Access UK are determining the location of the Banking Hub which has to be in central Morley, I’ll give you a full update when I have it. I’ll post my previous update in the comments.
💷Rules state that the Post Office and the Banking Hub have to be in two separate, distinct locations because they offer different services. The permanent Banking Hub will not be in the same location as the Post Office.
I’m delighted that our community came together to not only save our Post Office but secure a Banking Hub for the town too. Thank you again to every resident, every business, every councillor, who contributed to our campaign to make our town a better and ensure that residents and businesses in Leeds South West and Morley have access to the services they need.
